Juventus are trying to agree to a new deal with Dusan Vlahovic, but it’s far from certain they’ll indeed manage, and they are keeping tabs on possible summer replacements, for instance, Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The youngster has fully blossomed this year, bagging 14 goals and providing 7 assists in 21 appearances so far. He filled his boots in Belgium with Union Saint-Gilloise before transferring to the Bundesliga for €20M last summer.

The price tag of Boniface has easily doubled thanks to his sound performances in a more competitive league, but Juventus would be well-armed with cash in this scenario. They wanted €70/80M for Vlahovic last summer. His valuation wouldn’t be much lower if the talks with his camp fell apart. They wish to revise his deal from a financial standpoint, but he still has two and a half years on it.

The 22-year-old burst onto the scenes with Bodo/Glimt, which brought him to Europe from Real Sapphire. He has four caps with Nigeria, where he backs up Victor Osimhen.

Our Take on Juventus, Boniface, and Vlahovic

If things broke down with the Serb, and a suitor dangled a boatload of money, they’d go with a touted prospect with a high ceiling and affordable wages. While their coffers would be stacked in this chain of events, the investment to acquire the Bayer Leverkusen marksman might still be too sizeable for their liking.
