Late news

Fiorentina mister Vincenzo Italiano has trotted out a pretty wacky lineup that may be a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-4-3. Assuming the former, Luca Ranieri will play at leftback with Cristiano Biraghi on the left wing. Maxime Lopez gets a rare start next to the indispensable Alfred Duncan, with Antonín Barák as the 10 and Lucas Beltrán up front. If it’s a back 3 with Ranieri, though, Biraghi will slide to wingback and Barák to more of an inside-right role; clearly, Italiano’s doing all he can to keep Josip Brekalo out of the XI.

Bologna boss Thiago Motta has shuffled the defense a bit, dropping Riccardo Calafiori for Sam Beukema in the center and Łukasz Skorupski for Federico Ravaglia between the sticks, but the front 6 are as expected.

Fiorentina (4-2-3-1): Terracciano; Kayode, Milenković, Martínez Quarta, Ranieri; Lopez, Duncan; Biraghi, Barak, Ikoné; Beltran

Bologna (4-2-3-1): Skorupski; Kristiansen, Lucumí, Beukema, Posch; Aebischer, Freuler; Saelemaekers, Ferguson, Orsolini; Zirkzee
